Water Tech Deployment in New York City

Water Tech Deployment in New York City

New York City has long been at the forefront of urban innovation, and I-N-TECH is proud to be part of that story. In October 2025 we completed the installation of the first batch of conduit turbines in one of New York’s major city water grid networks, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward widespread clean energy infrastructure.

The installation generates a continuous 50 kW of renewable electricity from the kinetic energy already present in pressurized water flowing through existing pipelines. No new infrastructure was required. No roads were dug up. No communities were displaced.

How the Conduit Turbine Works

Our conduit turbines are designed to slot directly into existing water pipeline infrastructure. As pressurized water flows through the pipes, it spins our compact turbine rotors, converting that kinetic energy into usable electricity. The system operates around the clock, entirely in line with the normal operation of the water grid.

The New York installation is performing above our design efficiency target, which our engineering team attributes to the consistent high-pressure flow characteristics of New York’s century old water grid. Older grids, it turns out, can be a significant advantage with this technology.

What 50 kW Means in Real Terms

50 kW of continuous clean energy is enough to power approximately 33 average South African households around the clock. In a North American context, it covers the electricity needs of roughly 12 to 15 homes. Multiply that across an entire city grid with hundreds of pipeline segments, and the scale of the opportunity becomes clear.

More importantly, this energy is generated with zero additional carbon emissions, zero water consumption, and zero disruption to the city’s water supply.

What Comes Next

This deployment is the first of several planned across major metropolitan water networks. The data gathered from the New York installation is already informing optimizations to our turbine design for Phase 2 deployments. Our IoT monitoring platform is tracking real-time performance metrics, allowing our engineering team to fine tune output remotely without any site visits.

We are in active discussions with two additional city water authorities, and we expect to announce further deployments in the first quarter of 2026.

This is just the beginning. Water flows constantly beneath every major city on earth. I-N-TECH intends to put that flow to work.
